Normativity in Japan. A Young Scholars Conference

The Department of Japanology and Sinology of Jagiellonian University would like to cordially invite young scholars – postgraduate students and recent PhD graduates ​ – to present their research on the themes of ​normativity and non-normativity in Japan​ at an international young scholars’ conference.

Normativity in Japan. A Young Scholars Conference

The conference will be held on​ 8 April 2019 in Kraków, Poland. As the topic offers a wide range of interpretations, we welcome papers focused on the fields of literature, language, education, sociology, history, religion, art and philosophy. Submissions related to other themes are also welcome.

The languages of the conference are English and Japanese. The proposals for 20-minute presentations (no longer than 300 words of English text and 700 characters of Japanese text plus references) should be submitted to ​by 24 February 2019​. Please be sure to include your full name, affiliation and actual status (in case of recent PhD graduates with the year of your graduation). The notification of acceptance will be announced by 3 March 2019​.

Please note that there is no conference fee. The organizers intend to publish selected papers in conference proceedings.
